Fellows' Biographies
Here are the six fellows
who took part in the 2007 One World Fellowship Scheme. They were
selected from a total of more than 180 highly qualified and deserving
broadcast journalists from more than 30 countries.

Sofia Lopez
Executive Producer, MEGA, Chile
Working for privately run TV
station MEGA as Executive Producer, Sofia Lopez is responsible for
supervising all productions by independent producers, as well as for
identifying and buying new content from external sources. A real high
flier, Sofia joined MEGA in 2001 as a trainee; she has since worked her
way up and is now managing 10 different programmes.

Chanda Noward Mfula
Senior Producer, Zambezi FM, Zambia
Chanda Mfula works as Senior Producer at Zambezi FM,
managing a team of 10 presenters and producers. He is motivated to
improve the standard of programming in Zambia, making it relevant to
listeners as well as advertisers. Chanda is an advocate for human rights
issues and has worked to broaden the spectrum of voices heard in
mainstream media by giving communities in rural Zambia a platform to
express themselves.

Muamar A. O.
Nakhla
General Director, Wattan TV, Palestine
Since 2002, Muamar Orabi Nakhla
has been the General Manager of Wattan TV based in Ramallah, Palestine.
Under his leadership, the secular station with a democratic view has
grown from five to 42 staff, and with the plans to build a national news
agency and introduce a satellite service. Wattan TV is set to expand
even more over the coming years. As Executive Manager, Muamar is
responsible for the overall running of the station, as well as
overseeing the design and development of new programmes and campaigns.

Charles Tembei
Deputy Station Manager, Cameroon Radio Television West (Bafoussam),
Cameroon
In 2002, Charles joined Cameroon
Radio TV as a reporter and has since rapidly progressed to the prominent
position of Deputy Station Manager for CRTV West. As Deputy Station
Manager, he line manages 45 people; his main responsibilities include
supervising daily news packages, revising and refining news values and
drawing up a programmes guide for CRTV journalists. Charles is very
interested in development journalism and in using his skills to promote
a citizen culture among his audience.

Ha
Thu Hang
Deputy Chief of World News, Vietnam National Television, Vietnam
Having worked for Vietnam National Television for
more than 10 years, Ha Thu Hang started as a reporter and news presenter
of international news, and has now risen through the ranks to become
Deputy Chief of the World News Section leading a team of 25 people.
Through the course of her career, Hang has specialised in economics and
development issues and currently presents and produces the VNT flagship
weekly programme 'Economic Integration'.

Moshongwa Matsena
Senior Editor of Current Affairs, Channel Africa, South Africa
As Senior Editor at Channel
Africa, Moshongwa is responsible for the in-put and out-put of the radio
station’s current affairs programmes. Having climbed up the career
ladder for 12 years in a number of roles, she now manages six executive
producers of the Channel’s six language services. She is also
responsible for Channel Africa’s correspondents throughout the
continent, maintaining the station’s partnerships, as well as running
its internship and exchange programmes. For the fellowship, she wishes
to focus on convergence and digital broadcasting as well as strategic
media management.
