One year on: "We have loads of plans for diversifying the visibility and listenership of the channel. Also now I’m in charge of the promotions division for  four radio and three TV channels in our group. Practically, I do apply tactics and methodologies I learnt in the fellowship. In particular, I learned about improving social responsibilities."

Jaya Mahajan, UTV Software Communications, India

Jaya was Creative Director for UTV. This allowed her to concentrate on producing non-fiction current affairs programmes, with and for international broadcasters such as CNN and the BBC. Through these programmes, Jaya showed a strong desire to engage audiences in socio-political issues.

One year on: "We are launching a new business channel, to compete with CNBC, and I will be part of the core team that will be setting up the new channel. One of the main reasons for my shift to the news side of the business has been the fellowship."

Feycal Caunhye, Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation, Mauritius

One year on: "The ethical and social responsibility aspects learnt during the fellowship programme help me gear my news stories and programmes in a different way. After the fellowship, I have been asked to contribute actively in the Management of the News Room with the effect that I am now, almost three times a week responsible for the management of news bulletins, planning, giving assignments to staff etc."
